    About the team

     

    We are a team that is half comprised of intern to hire!  We value curiosity, persistence, and hard work over years of experience.  The team has access to global resources while having a small team feel.  We have competed in a few capture the flag (CTF) events as a team.

    SAP Fieldglass Security provides detection, response, and mitigation capabilities for the organization.  The Security Team is responsible for supporting host based and network defenses, including scanning the network for vulnerabilities, identifying relevant and developing threats, investigating and correlating security events via a SIEM/logs, recommending corrective actions, and developing solutions for security issues.  SAP Fieldglass Security has a strong focus on growth and learning through ongoing professional development. 

    What you’ll do:

     

    Position title: SAP Fieldglass Intern – Cyber Security

    Location: Chicago, IL – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopenings

    Expected start date to end date: June 1, 2021 – August 31, 2021

    In this role, you’ll:

     

    • Performs network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis building active monitoring dashboards, reports, and alerts
    • Monitors evolving threats and vulnerability feeds analyzing the data for potential risks to the organization
    • Manage Data Loss Prevention tools including deployment, metrics and analysis
    • Assist in incident response tabletop exercises using incident response best practices
    • Develop, document and implement information security procedures to enforce information security standards
    • Track and maintain security metrics
    • Analyze technical and business risks to make recommendations for security controls and/or compensating corrective actions
  • Qualifications

    Who you are:

     

    We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

     

    • Candidates who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or masters degree program which is applicable to the position (computer science, computer security, or equivalent proven experience including security certifications).
    • Regular Expressions (regex) & Scripting skills are a plus in Python or PowerShell
    • Ability to research, analyze and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision and escalate issues as appropriate
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple activities, including cross-team dependent activities simultaneously
    • Thrive in a fast-paced environment working with multiple teams across various geographies
    • Familiar with the Cyber Kill Chain & MITRE ATT&CK
    • Preferred experience: familiarity with SIEMs (eg. ELK, Splunk, AlianVault), vulnerability scanners (eg. Nessus, Qualys, Nexpose), CI/CD tools, and containerization & orchestration.  Experience with cloud providers (eg. Google Cloud Platform, AWS and Azure).
