ABOUT THE TEAM:

SAP Fieldglass design team is ever growing and lots of interesting work going on for 2019. Even though we have been around for over 19 years we still innovate and build out new features to help our clients streamline processes and improve the application.

• Everyone on the team is very helpful. We have 5 people on our design team. We can provide a wealth of information to intern to make it worthwhile for them
• The main goal is to have the intern to gain an understanding of an iterative design process
• You’ll have the opportunity to interact with many different groups

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• You will be involved in some UI research and design on main and mobile applications
• Assist in understanding the core problem (enhancement) we’re trying to solve
• Suggest improved design changes
• Mockups of ideas are encouraged
• Help organizing our asset library of all the elements our application in Axure and Sketch
• Be innovative and consistent in the approach
• Need to be aware that even a small change can increase scope of a project if the feature is used in many places
• Simplify complex interactions where possible

How will this role drive business impact and results?

• Produce output to help improve the usability of our applications
• Be thoughtful in the designs and suggestions you build
• Analyze data-driven input on usage
• See your work become part of our application

Location: Naperville, IL; second choice Chicago, IL (Manager works in Naperville but there are team members in Chicago)

Expected start date to end date: June 10, 2019 to August 16, 2019 but can be extended based upon when you need to go back to classes and your interest.

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master Degree in UI/UX Design or similar field
• Experience with prototyping tools like Axure or similar applications
• Basic understanding with HMTL, CSS and dynamic interactions would be help the intern exceed
• JavaScript, jQuery knowledge a plus
• Familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator encouraged
• Excel, Word; minor experience needed
• Inter-personal skills in speaking with a team to describe your proposed changes
• Displaying professionalism but know this can be fun, inventive work
