    ABOUT THE TEAM

    The Mobile Experience and Engineering (MXE), Chicago unit is looking for a highly motivated Developer Intern who has a strong interest in the full lifecycle of mobile application development. The MXE is responsible for the development and timely delivery of mobile enterprise applications. The MXE portfolio consists of a variety of mobile apps that allows users to work offline and online, supports iOS and Android, cloud-based deployment, and integrates with SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    Position title: SAP Mobile Experience and Engineering iXp Intern – Software Developer

    Location: Downers Grove, Chicago, Illinois / Remote – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopenings

    Expected start date to end date: November or December 2021 for 6 months

     

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

    Among other responsibilities, you should expect to do many of the following:

    • Assist in the development of mission-critical mobile applications.
    • Create unit-test and automate test scripts for feature development.
    • Investigate and resolve critical system issues for Enterprise level Fortune 500 companies.
    • Feel the satisfaction of delivering a solution to customers that makes their businesses run simpler and better.
    • Meet, work, and talk with colleagues and customers from all around the world!
    • Master SAP software that is being used by industries, governments, and multinational companies around the globe.

     

    Be part of a small, tight-knit team of development professionals

    • Work with various members of the team to learn about front-end and back-end development, business analysis, requirements gathering, and application architecture.
    • Work collaboratively to provide solutions to customers.
    • Participate in daily scrums, sprint feature estimating, and sprint demos.
    • Work closely with Developers, QA, UX Designers, and Product Owners.
    • Learn new skills and technologies that will open paths to many new possible careers. The learning never ends – you are expected to continuously learn and up-skill during your time here.
    • Get involved with SAP’s active Intern Community and experience what it is like to be early talent at one of the biggest software companies in the World.
    • Innovate and create new tools that will help SAP run simple. Anything you can think of to make the business run better will get SAP support.

    WHO YOU ARE:

    We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

     

    Required:

    • A minimum of 60 credit hours working towards a BS degree in Computer Science.
    • Candidates should have a current 3.0 or higher GPA.
    • Strong JAVA AND C++ skills.
    • Excellent English communication skills (written and oral).
    • Excellent diagnostic and technical analysis skills.
    • A strong interest in mobile application development.

     

    Knowledge of any of the following is a plus:

    • Databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, SQL Anywhere, ASE, MySQL, etc.).
    • Swift, Objective-C, C++, JavaScript, Kotlin, or ABAP development skills.
    • SAP Products & Solutions (SAP NetWeaver, SAP Business Suite, SAP BusinessObjects, etc.).
