    ABOUT THE TEAM:

    The SAP SuccessFactors User Assistance team is a world-class technical communication organization that sets the standard for how product documentation creates value for SAP customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our team for an internship in our South San Francisco, CA office. In this role, you’ll support our team’s global strategic initiatives including things like in-product support, data-driven KPIs, taxonomy, and structured content.   

    In addition, you’ll get to support the release of new features in SAP’s largest cloud, SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite. This internship is a great opportunity to develop a solid foundation and understanding of structured authoring with DITA. You’ll also have a chance to work with industry-leading teams and the innovative and emerging technologies they build.

    Our team thrives on building an information experience that delivers customer satisfaction. And we have a lot of fun doing it!

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

    • Contribute to one or more projects that will be showcased at the premier SAP SuccessFactors Customer event, SuccessConnect
    • Experience the full product documentation lifecycle, from planning to release
    • Work directly with SMEs to drive quality improvements through knowledge capture and content updates
    • Practice task analysis and building task-oriented content plans
    • Work in Jira, Ixiasoft DITA CMS, SAP Jam, Mural, MS Teams, and of course SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
    • Learn about the technology behind in-app help and conversational interfaces
    • Design in-app information experiences for system administrators
    • Learn about taxonomy and its implementation and governance

    LOCATION: South San Francisco, CA

    EXPECTED START DATE TO END DATE: June 10, 2019 – August 16, 2019

  • Qualifications

    WHO YOU ARE:

    We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

    To be successful in this role, you should definitely be:

    • A strong verbal and written communicator
    • Experienced at research, interviewing, and note-taking
    • A self-directed critical thinker
    • A Junior or graduating Senior in any of the following programs: Technical Communication, Journalism, Communications, English Literature, History, Philosophy, or other research- and writing-heavy majors

    Other skills or experience we’d love to leverage but that aren’t strictly necessary:

    • Design Thinking
    • Chatbots
    • Animation or video production
    • Graphic design
