    ABOUT THE TEAM

    SAP is currently looking for a UX Research Intern to work with the New Ventures Studio team. The New Ventures studio empowers small, entrepreneurial teams inside SAP to turn innovative ideas into profitable businesses. Corporate venturing allows the combination of an entrepreneurial approach with the unique strengths of one of the market leaders in enterprise software applications.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    Position title: SAP Venture Studio iXp Intern – UX Research Intern

    Location: Palo Alto, California (Hybrid)

    Expected start date: July 2022

    Duration: 40hours/week

     

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

    You will be challenged with conducting a variety of explorations using human gestures and position to interact with wall-projected SAP data sets. You will be responsible for making recommendations for the most effective and relevant data to use to impact visitors. The goal is to show animating SAP data sets. Our need is to make the most compelling data set interactive, by visitors standing and moving within a defined data space.

     

    As a UX Research and data insights Intern you will be partnering with a creative technologist and researcher to impact efforts that will highlight strategic direction across the Venture Studio data sets to be installed in the lobby of Building 1. You will need to collaborate with cross-disciplinary team members to conduct user research to try out the ideas and use different data sets to evaluate what are the most effective data sets, gestures and movements. You must be able to work and adapt to a fluid, fast-paced environment and have strong technical, communication, and collaboration skills.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Define user-research plans and applying research methods to best address research questions
    • Design and conduct light weight user interaction to support casual human interactions using core natural gestures
    • Implement Kinect to ‘sense’ position and gestures to interact with different data sets
    • Present visual and actionable research findings to a variety of audiences
    • Collaborate with UX designers to iteratively design solutions that satisfy installation goals

     

    WHO YOU ARE:

    We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

     

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Working towards a BS in Computer Science, or Computer Human Interface, or related field
    • Ability to use standard research tools such as: MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word, MS Excel, SurveyMonkey, Figma, Miro, Zoom, Kinect etc.
    • Basic knowledge of a broad set of research methods, e.g., interviews, surveys, usability evaluations,, online tracking experiments, log-analytic studies, and quantitative analyses.
    • A passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge about various and varied domain technology, goals, & use cases
    • Ability to fluidly learn and apply knowledge to functionality etc. of product concepts and/or products to be researched.
