    ABOUT THE TEAM:

    The Customer Innovation Unit (CI) pioneers new technologies, enables revenue, and scales innovation by embracing the entrepreneurial spirit. We generate new intellectual property for SAP in a highly creative environment. We demonstrate feasibility of new technologies, support board level initiatives, work with our field organizations to identify high value business scenarios for our customers and enable revenue for strategic opportunities.

    The CI team provides a start-up environment in the heart of the Silicon Valley along with free lunch!

    This internship will support the Business Development activities for the Customer Innovation team within the Technology and Innovation organization. Through the application of design thinking and emerging technologies, the CI team solves complex problems and delivers brand-new solutions for our customers, in the form of proofs of concept. We promote cutting edge innovations and work on strategic projects that foster strong customer relationships and support of business objectives.

    You will translate the business strategy into brand, digital, social and community strategies. It would include working on highly strategic projects for innovation center to focus on brand experience, digital media, social and content strategy, community development, event design, and demand generation.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

    As a business development intern for CI team, you will support multiple activities including but not limited to:

    • Understanding how to interpret primary market research and analytics.
    • Understanding marketplace trends
    • Developing a comprehensive list of customer and prospect companies that meet the requirements of the target market
    • Supporting the business development lead with all aspects of activity related to building, tracking and maintaining a healthy pipeline
    • Understanding the critical importance of positive, respectful interactions with SAP customers
    • Identifying potential business partnerships
    • Supporting the marketing team in the research, development, and reporting of marketing initiatives and materials
    • Collaborating with the marketing team on marketing campaigns
    • Creating materials for business development outreach
    • Developing Power Point presentations and proposal documents
    • Assisting in quickly responding to urgent requests from SCE Leaders.
  • Qualifications

    WHO YOU ARE:

    The ideal candidate is a polymath who can take on multiple responsibilities, tasks and duties across a wide-range of disciplines. The candidate must be ready and willing to “wear many hats” and adapt to a fast-moving and constantly evolving business landscape. The candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program preferably in one or more of the following areas of study:

    • Business Administration
    • Sales & Marketing
    • Excellent/Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Unwavering attention to detail
    • Strong analytical mind-set
    • Well organized and punctual
    • Tenaciousness in finding the right solutions
    • Professionalism at all times in all aspects of the job
    • Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
    • Ability, willingness, and aptitude to learn SAP enterprise software
    • Availability to work full time (40 hours per week) during the summer and at least part-time (20 or more hours per week) during the school year
    • Have the availability and means to work on-site on the SAP campus in Palo Alto
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Design Thinking knowledge a great plus.
