What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Data Engineer

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Expected start date: June 2023

As a Data Engineer, you will establish successful partnerships with subject matter experts and supporting team members for Big data architecture and software engineering principles. You will be a major contributor to the SAP’s Big data architecture, hence strong experience in large scale platforms is an absolute must. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

• Experience with high-scale, high performance and high availability production system development experience in one of the public clouds (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Proficient in large scale data platforms, cloud services, advanced ETL/ELT and data streaming tools
• Advanced SQL with big data optimization skills is an absolute must.
• Background in data modeling and performance tuning in relational and no-SQL databases
• Experience with data practices (security, data management and governance)
• Experience with distributed computing technologies including Spark, Kafka, Pub/sub, Hive/pig, MapReduce, etc.
• Experience with various databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis etc.
• Expertise in some or all of the following: Data Pipelines, Data Warehousing, Statistics, Metrics development
• Broad knowledge of the data infrastructure ecosystem
• Experience managing efforts in distributed systems and/or developing large scale web/cloud SaaS applications
• Demonstrate clear and concise communication and data-driven decision-making capability
• Experience working in an Agile, fast-paced, DevOps environment.
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

• Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse or Data Mart is a plus.

Compensation Range Transparency : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 15 - 62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
