ABOUT THE TEAM

The SAP Innovation Center is looking for a highly motivated full-stack software development intern to join the team for an internship. This is a remote position for pacific time zone. In case the situation permits, office visits in Palo Alto, CA and Newport Beach, CA will be possible. In this role, you will be able to work on a variety of cutting-edge technologies and projects, such as blockchain, self-sovereign identity, data science and machine learning projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Position title: SAP Innovation Center Intern – Software Developer Location: Palo Alto, California Expected start date: June 2021

In this role, you’ll:

• Develop full-stack applications using state of the art frameworks
• Be a contributor in an agile project team with SCRUM setup
• Work with stakeholders and team members in solving complex problems
• Design and develop front-end interfaces, RESTful APIs and backend systems 
• Learn about cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain, self-sovereign identity, or machine learning applications
• Integrate solutions into SAP enterprise software

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Strong programming skills in either Python, JavaScript, or Java
• Candidates to currently be enrolled in a master’s degree program which is applicable to the position (computer science or equivalent proven experience) 
• Experience building web applications
• Strong communication skills that include the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment working with multiple teams across various geographies
• Preferred experience: familiarity with front-end frameworks, micro service architecture, cloud applications (AWS, GCP), SQL, Docker, GitHub

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning. The ideal candidate will be the one with the following skills:

• Proficient in Computer Science Fundamentals with proven programming skills
• Strong background in software engineering principles and good problem-solving ability.
• Working knowledge of Java tech stack and well versed with cloud technologies like AWS/Azure etc
• Proficient in database concepts and design principles with ability write and analyze SQL.
• Good working experience with any UI framework – Angular JS (Preferred), along with strong Javascript / CSS3 / HTML5 skills.
• Experience or working knowledge of developing REST APIs and integrating them with UI applications.
• Strong enthusiasm and interest for new technologies and solving real customer problems.
• Ability to work in an Agile based fast paced development environment. 
• Should be a good team player with good communication skills.
• Requires candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate, Masters, MBA or PhD degree program which is applicable to the position.
• We prefer candidates with either MS or BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics.
