    ABOUT THE TEAM

     

    The Office of the Managing Director at SAP USA is a highly strategic team tasked with the following: 

     

     

    • Drive the strategy and execution of the region’s voice, brand, and experience 
    • Advocate for “Created in USA” innovations across the country and globally within SAP  
    • Unify employees by delivering employee engagement focused programs, initiatives & events   
    • Mobilize employees to innovate through learnings, programs, communities, and connections 
    • Drives a people & innovation agenda in collaboration with HR and local lines of business and works to receive Top Employer status in the USA  
    • Offer opportunities for employees to collaborate with customers through programs such as the Experience Center  
    • Provide sponsorship funding and skilled volunteers for local non-profits, academic institutions, and technical organizations to increase the visibility of SAP as a thought leader in local markets  
    • Focus on continuous improvement for efficient and effective administrative & financial processes

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

     

    POSITION TITLE: SAP iXp Intern – Full Stack Developer, Labs US LOCATION: Palo Alto EXPECTED START DATE (6 months, part or full-time internship) November / December 2021

    In this role, you will lead technological initiatives (from ideation to execution) to maximize the experience of internal programs across the MD Office.  

     

    Role logistics:

     

    • This role will be virtual, but preferably the intern will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area (working pacific time hours)
    • Mon-Fri for 15-20 hours per week OR 40 hours per week (dependent on students course load and schedule, TBD with the team)
    • YOU WILL SPECIFICALLY INFLUENCE CHANGE ACROSS THE TEAM BY: 
    • Building strategic technology features for internal programs to maximize project scalability. This includes matching tools for the tech rotational program and mentorship model, among other strategic projects
    • Creation of data dashboards to encapsulate and report employee experiences of internal offerings that will be adopted regionally
    • Web design of our key internal pillars for the MD Office, to be launched and shared across our SAP California Community

     

    WHO YOU ARE:

     

    We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

    • Currently enrolled student in one of these preferred fields of study: Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent major 
    • TECH SKILLS:  
      • Backend Development: Database knowledge with experience in SQL and the use of Python backend frameworks.
      • Experience in Java, Node.js is also preferred
      • Frontend Development: Web development skills in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, React and Fiori experience a plus 
      • Track Record: Previous programming experience as an intern, student research assistant, or private projects on Github 
      • Data Science: Algorithm development and data skills preferred, but not required

       

    • BUSINESS SKILLS:  
      • Customer-Centric: Understand customer needs and translate to actionable items 
      • Effective Communication: Strong written and verbal skills in English  
      • growth Mindset: Ability to think creatively and disrupt the status quo 
      • Process-oriented: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
