ABOUT THE TEAM

SAP Security Research identifies and solves research problems relating to software and operational security, and shares its insights with others, particularly product groups at SAP, to drive advances in security and privacy. The group stays at the forefront of security research by tracking trends in security, and by co-innovating through collaborative research with leading universities, partners, and SAP product groups.

SAP Security Research’s objective is to understand new basic principles in multiple security research areas. We analyze the business value for SAP, refine the method and adapt them for SAP. By building prototypes and blueprints for productization, we support the SAP development teams to consume the research results. 

We are a young and dynamic team of post-doctoral researchers and PhD students striving for new ways to protect enterprise systems. As such, we can support you during your internship on academic as well as hands-on architectural questions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Position title: SAP iXp Intern – Security Research

Location: Newport Beach – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopenings

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

Customers take it for granted that SAP develops and operates trustworthy, secure products and services. To help it meet these expectations SAP founded the SAP Security Research group, which is looking for students to join its team to work on security topics.   

We are looking for an engaged student supporting us with our new strategic topic “Human Factor Security”. Goal is to help us understand the complete field and get to know what other researchers have already been doing (i.e. publications on past conferences). With this information, we want to analyze how this research by others fit to our needs at SAP and pick one to develop a road map to proceed.

WHO YOU ARE

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Role Requirements includes:

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
• Preferred fields of study: Informatics/Mathematics or Psychology     
• Language skills: Fluency in German or English
• Soft skills: Ability to communicate accurately and proactively
• Others: Affinity in Security and knowledge in the above-mentioned topics as well as interest in analyzing academic research activities is a plus
