ABOUT THE TEAM 

SAP is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to support our testing efforts on some exciting projects.

This role will be responsible for debugging software products, maintaining quality standards for company products, capturing results and filing defect reports. The role will require a candidate who is technically sound, QA process oriented, self-driven, self-motivated, willing to do “hands on” work, attitude to go above and beyond to get the work done with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

POSITION TITLE: SAP iXp Intern – Software Engineer  LOCATION: Palo Alto or San Ramon, CA (Hybrid working schedule)  EXPECTED START DATE TO END DATE: January 2023 – June 2023 (20+ hrs/week)

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

• Be part of a team of software engineers building industry leading, robust and innovative software solutions
• Utilize the department development infrastructure, development processes and software programming techniques and provide feedback
• Contribute to building a productive, pleasant working environment using the senior team members as role models
• Assist with Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and documentation of new software solutions

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Currently studying for a degree in software engineering/computer science (required)
• Ability to commute to SAP San Ramon or Palo Alto office locations 2-3 days/week 
• Ability to work 20-40 hours per week while managing school work 
• Excellent inter-personal/communication skills (required) 
• Exposure to programming languages (Java, Perl, Python etc) (required) 
• Exposure to scripting language like shell etc (preferred)
• Exposure to working in a linux/windows environment (preferred) 
• Exposure to some database system (preferred) 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team (preferred)
