PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Digital transformation is fundamentally changing every industry. While this transformation is now pervasive for consumers — from songs and books all the way up to online purchases of cars — everyone in the business world wants that same simplicity of digital consumption as well. The SAP Digital for Customer Product Management team is looking for a dynamic Product Management intern. Our focus is on delivering CRM cloud-based business applications for small teams and departments. (See sapstore.com/D4C)

The candidate will be responsible for driving product adoption, product requirement gathering, and product rollout. The candidate will work in close collaboration with Customers, Partners, Research Analysts, and SAP field/GTM organizations (marketing, sales, pre-sales, consulting) as well as our engineering stakeholders such as development, quality management, and knowledge management.

The main objective is to rapidly design, develop, and deliver innovative and beautiful customer service products and drive early customer adoption. This is a senior-level product management position and will consist of the following outbound and inbound activities:

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• As a Product Management intern, you will have significant responsibility for delivering compelling product functionality from concept to market including market analysis, identification of user needs, storyboarding, brainstorming, strategy development, prototyping, product delivery, quality assurance, installation, support, and go-to-market.
• Shape the product strategy and vision by evaluating end-user desirability, economic viability, and technical feasibility
• Create compelling market-validated use cases
• Create storyboards and wireframes to effectively communicate functional specs to the design and development team
• Interact with enterprise customers, end-users, and prospects to co-innovate and test the requirements
• Gather requirements, develop the business case, drive the roadmap execution and help take the product to market
• Be the champion for your product both externally and internally
• Effectively work with Sales, Marketing, Implementation Services, Support, Development, Design, and other SAP organizations & Partners
• Strong understanding of cloud marketing applications market & competitive offerings

• Passion for building great new products in the public cloud
• “Can-do” mentality, and willingness to challenge the establishment or status-quo when needed
• Works hard to understand and advocate the interests of the end-user and customers
• A diversity of prior experiences, a career trajectory that indicates informed risk-taking and resilience in the face of adversity
• An ability to thrive despite ambiguity, and to develop opportunities where others see road-blocks
• Exceptional written, visual, and direct communication skills to effectively engage with technical and non-technical teams
• Executive presentation skills for internal & customer interaction
• Ability to build strong relationships and navigate a complex global organization with entrepreneurial passion
• Strategic thinking and execution with extreme attention to detail
• Experience in design thinking methodology and projects desirable
• B.S. in Business/Computer Science or related area. MBA or Master’s degree in progress a strong plus.
• Passion for building great new products in the public cloud

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 0.5 plus years of experience in roles such as Product Management, Product Marketing  or Product Design
• Experienced in working with customers, Field, and engineering
• Successful track record on previous assignments
