About the team

Industries are the heart and soul of SAP’s distinction in the market: for 49 years, we have helped more than 400,000 customers worldwide run their value chains end-to-end.  Our customers want SAP software and technology to drive more vertical, industry-specific processes in the cloud with seamless integration into the backbone—which in many cases are in core SAP applications.

The Services Industry team plays a key role in fulfilling this mission: as part of SAP’s ICA (Industry and Customer Advisory) group we are responsible for providing industry strategy, thought leadership, and business development to propel SAP’s portfolio to global customers.  We are a global team, responsible for 7 industries: Media, Telco, Higher Education, Professional Services, Travel & Transportation, Engineering and Construction, and Sports & Entertainment.  We engage across the SAP organization, with our customers, and with our extensive partner community to develop, market, support our applications and solutions.

What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Services Industries Intern – Industry Cloud Business Development  

Location: Global/open – please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopenings

Expected start date to end date: June 7th – Aug 13th, 2021 

In this role, you’ll:

• SAP’s Industry Cloud extends our solution portfolios into vertical specific business processes and capabilities: it’s the innovation space for SAP and our partners to develop new solutions for the core business of our customers. The industry cloud solutions are offered as a software service, including the relevant integration and configuration content to extend the SAP Intelligent Suite and business networks.
• In this role, you will support business development for our industry cloud applications for the focus industries.
  • Analytics: Develop and provide regular cross cluster reporting for customer adoption, pipeline, references
  • Program planning and execution: Support direct go to market programs for select applications, including marketing planning and execution, value proposition creation, customer/prospect target list creation and pursuits
• This role will propel our team to achieve our financial goal of industry cloud application revenue this year, while delighting and securing new customers and references.

Who you are:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Strong analytic capabilities and tools experience
• Bachelor’s or MBA desired (or underway)
• Understanding of cloud technologies, ERP
• Creativity and critical thinking
• Self-motivated, energetic and passionate to make a difference
• May have had direct work experience in one or more of our focus industries (Media, Telco, Higher Education, Professional Services, Travel & Transportation, Engineering and Construction, and Sports & Entertainment)
• 2nd language skills (German, Spanish, French…) desired but not required
