    The Team SAP Ariba Search team focuses on Semantic search. We aim to improve search relevance by better understanding the user’s intent along with the context of the search and matching it. The product uses continuous data ingestion (via near-real-time streams). The system is designed to scale with multiple microservices, to meet billions documents published and millions of searches per day and accommodate future growth.

    The primary technologies this team work on include: Java, Solr, Cassandra, Storm, Hadoop, Kafka, Machine Learning, Python, Zookeeper, Microservices

     

    The Role

    As a Software Developer on the SAP Ariba Search team, you will be responsible for end-to-end feature development, automation, and investigation of time sensitive issues in production. We are looking for a Software Developer who is passionate about building features using cutting edge open source technologies and machine learning.

     

    Responsibilities include: 

    • Design, coding, testing, quality assurance and deployment of complex product features and functionality.
    • Working with SCRUM team, sticking to sprint timelines and prescribed development processes based on.
    • Help develop test plans and write automation test cases wherever needed
    • Own features and cloud production issues until resolution.
    • Manage conflicting priorities and still focus on the task at hand.
    • Contribute to innovation initiative.

     

     

     

    Education & Qualifications

    • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field

    • 1-3 years of working hands-on experience on java based distributed application

    • Strong programming abilities in Java and Java based test automation

    • Good understanding in system architecture & design, data analysis and problem solving

    • Familiarity with developing and integrating with Microservices, event-driven and parallel processing pipelines, modern DevOps practices

    • Passion for customers, product quality, security, and service excellence
