    THE OPPORTUNITY

    As a Solution Engineering Intern on the Xactly Value Engineering team, you'll be responsible for researching, designing, and building formal Xactly-only and partner-collaborated apps as well as prototyping Xactly-only and partner-collaborated solution frameworks. Additionally, your responsibilities will include enabling partners and internal stakeholders on these new offerings and providing best practices documentation. The end goal of these activities is to help accelerate the expansion of our total addressable market as well as increase ecosystem sales.

    As part of these efforts, you'll learn how we approach our agile app management lifecycle where we identify a market need, build a prototype, and based on defined success criteria, graduate apps from prototypes to frameworks, bring them to market, and ultimately develop a formal product offering. Along the way, you'll have an opportunity to learn new technologies, gain the knowledge of how we collaborate with other departments, and communicate our ideas, strategies, and solutions throughout the organization.

    THE TEAM

    Xactly Value Engineering is a small, rapidly growing, and dynamic team that helps drive how we sell, implement, and manage our customers by delivering new market offerings, leveraging value selling principles, providing domain expertise, and helping to manage the customer lifecycle. We are looking to expand upon the team's current capabilities by adding talented, results-driven individuals from diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn and contribute new ways to solving problems.

    THE SKILL SET:

    • Working towards a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a similar field with a graduation date between December 2021 and June 2022
    • Pursuing a career in software post-graduation as a developer, product owner, or a similar role.
    • Detail oriented with strong technical and problem-solving skills
    • Familiar with relational databases and well versed in SQL.
    • Fluent in one or more programming languages (eg; Python, C/C++, Java, etc.)
    • Experience with REST API integration design, specifically ODBC and JDBC drivers, considered an asset.
    • Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem considered an asset, specifically managed packages and app exchange applications.

    WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU'LL:

    • Become acquainted with the members of the Xactly Value Engineering team and gain an understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
    • Familiarize yourself with the Solution Engineering Intern role by ramping up on frameworks and methodologies, current and upcoming initiatives, and ensuring that expectations are well defined.
    • Gain an understanding of the Sales Performance Management space and the business challenges Xactly solves with its products and services.
    • Enroll in and complete any relevant Xactly University training and supplement with self-study where applicable.
    • Define measurable goals to be achieved during the internship and set the appropriate milestones for completion.

    WITHIN TWO MONTHS, YOU'LL:

    • Begin contributing to Solution Engineering initiatives and acquire the necessary expertise required to complete the previously defined goals.
    • Provide status updates and demonstrations to members of the Xactly Value Engineering team as well as other cross-functional teams, where appropriate.

    BY THE END OF YOUR INTERNSHIP, YOU'LL:

    • Assist in building a prototype for one or more apps or contribute to the progression of one or more apps to the next stage in the app management lifecycle.
    • Deliver enablement and best practices documentation for all apps you've been involved with.
    • Provide the necessary hand-off and knowledge transfer for all apps you've been involved with.
