    TECHNICAL WRITER ASSOCIATE

    SAP SuccessFactors

     

    SUMMARY

     

    Technical writers at SAP are the bridge between the products we build and the customers who use them. The SAP SuccessFactors User Assistance team is a world-class technical communication organization that sets the standard for how product documentation creates value for SAP customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated technical writer to join the North American side of our global team. As a member of our team,  you’ll support the release of new features in SAP’s largest cloud product, SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite. In this role, you’ll support our team’s global strategic initiatives including creating task-oriented content for our HXM customers, leveraging data insights to drive content strategy, and exploring the connection between in-product support, taxonomy, structured content and how they work together to foster customer loyalty.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Deliver high-quality assets that align with SAP standards and guidelines
    • Actively research and develop product knowledge to foster a deep understanding of the target audience
    • Develop and maintain documentation, including release notes, system messages, product guides, etc
    • Work closely with product, engineering, UX and other subject matter experts to produce quality deliverables

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

     

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Some professional experience as a technical writer, journalist, or researcher
    • Familiarity with component content management systems and structured authoring
    • A self-directed critical thinker
    • A strong interest in new technology
    • Comfortable managing your own time and multiple tasks
    • Some knowledge of UX writing principles

     

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Some understanding of agile software development
    • Data or statistical analysis skills
    • Project management
    • Some coding experience
    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems
    • Some knowledge of DITA and XML authoring tools

     

    EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Undergraduate degree Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, Science related discipline

    or equivalent work experience
