JOB SCOPE:

• As a UX Design Intern, you will be working on feature designs for the Analytics Portal in RingCentral's unified communications product. You will be responsible for executing design work like flows, wireframes, sketches, prototypes and spec documents consistent with design and brand standards. And also utilize research and user testing to find evidence design concepts. As a successful candidate, you will have a portfolio of visual and interaction designs. You will tell us stories about how you came up with the design solutions. And, you will demonstrate a passion for design and innovation, and that you are curious about the customer. You must be able to work under guidance on projects, engaging with cross functional teams in the organization including designers, product managers to engineers.

AS A UX DESIGN INTERN, YOU WILL

• Work on RingCentral product features from wireframe to prototype under guidance of the Senior UX Designer.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior UX Designer to create user flows, wireframes, annotated wireframes, prototypes, sketches and other UX artifacts.
• Participate on user testing, connect with personas and gather results from interviewing.
• Under guidance, use and help expand the design pattern library to create a great design experience for our users.
• Broaden UX discipline knowledge through hands-on UX work and learning opportunities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in a Computer Science, Interaction Design, and/or Visual Communication Design discipline
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in human-computer interaction, computer science, visual communication design discipline, or a related field.
• A design portfolio demonstrating design principles for web and/or mobile platforms.
• Experience on cross-functional design and development teams creating web/mobile based products.
• Proficiency in key design applications,
  • Pen and paper, whiteboard and marker.
  • Visual design tools, including Sketch, Illustrator.
  • Prototyping tools, including InVision, Adobe XD, Principle (optional).
  • Communication tools including Glip, Slack, and Google Sites.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• M.S. in in Computer Science, Interaction Design, Visual Communication design or a related field or equivalent degree.
• Demonstrated design background in fundamentals along with relevant internships, work experience, or personal projects outside the classroom in interaction design, visual design, or motion design.
• Effective analytical, creative, and visual thinker with excellent verbal and visual communication skills.

LEARNING SKILLS/OUTCOMES:

• When you are done with an internship, your portfolio of work will have visual and interaction designs at all levels of fidelity from rough sketches to final spec documents and you will have broadened knowledge of UX processes and methodologies.

AVAILABILITY:

• Full-time or Part-time internship [10-week internship]
• Must be available to start January 25, 2021
