EZLynx is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic intern to work as a UX Designer in the EZLynx UX team.

You’ll work with the EZLynx Product and UX teams to explore how we can leapfrog EZLynx ahead of our competition. You will apply your understanding of interface design, user experience design principles, and information architecture. This is an opportunity to practice the lessons you've learn as a UX focused student and apply them in the real world. You will do user research with internal EZLynx folks such as Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX designers, and Support, as well as with customers and document user flows, mental models, pain points and opportunities. You will document and analyze your observations in a centrally hosted location so others on the Product team can build on your research. You will ideate on solutions using design deliverables such as journey maps, user flow diagrams, sitemaps, wireframes, and mockups.

We have two projects that you will be working on:

Improve Discoverability:

The EZLynx app has grown organically over the years, and is rich with features. Unfortunately, discovering those features has been a major pain point for our novice and intermediate users. In this project, you will analyze how we can improve the discoverability of the various features and bring the interface up to date with the latest UI conventions and trends used by companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook, and other design focused startups.

Mobile First:

Currently we have a separate mobile app for users that want to use EZLynx on-the-go. We want to do away with the separate mobile app, and make the main EZLynx app mobile first. For this project, you will take a handful of the most frequently used areas of the apps -- particularly those that aren't mobile friendly today -- and create user flows, wireframes, and mockups to show how we can optimize the design to be mobile first.

Essential Duties

• Work closely with the UX and Product teams to understand the information architecture and design of the current app.
• Perform interviews (user research) with members of the Product team and with our customers as applicable.
• Use your UX knowledge to document mental models, journey maps, concept models of how our users use the app today and what the pain points and opportunities are.
• Research how design-focused startups and design-focused companies are building beautiful, intuitive, mobile first user interfaces for the next generation of users viz. Millenials, GenZ, and beyond.
• Ideate on solutions using wireframes and mockups.

About you

• Be comfortable interviewing people, both internal (Product team) and external (our customers).
• Be comfortable with UX deliverables such as personas, mental models, concept models, information architecture, sitemaps, user flows.
• Knowledge of journey maps and how to create them is a plus.
• Experience with wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, UXPin, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Knowledge of visual design and design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
