User Research supports development projects with methods and tools according to the User Centered Design process in order to deliver products with best in class User Experience. User Research in the SAP UX organization is focused on delivering impactful data and insights to effectively influence and inform Use Cases, UI-Designs and product design decisions overall. Typically, Researchers at SAP are working in a multi-functional team with UX Designers, Solution Management and Development in all stages of the development cycle. 

As a member of the UX Enablement team, you will support and run User Research projects for Design and Product teams. You will be asked to plan, run, and evaluate research initiatives end-to-end, while collaborating with and learning from experienced colleagues. In addition, you will be enabling teams through User Research trainings and coaching. Your work environment will be creative, dynamic and fast paced. We are looking for driven candidates, that are eager to extend their skillset and able to pick up tasks quickly and autonomously.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE  

• Passionately act as an advocate for the user and can emphasize with different people’s needs and challenges
• Analyze user needs and challenges and translate them into tangible recommendations for product interactions and experiences
• Identify research needs and plan initiatives to meet them
• Communicate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, manage expectations, and define research requirements
• Improve your research techniques through critique and iteration

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD

• BS in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology, or a related field and 0-5 years’ experience in User Experience Research or a related field
• Specialization in Engineering Psychology, Human-Computer/Machine-Interaction, Human Factors Engineering/Research, or a related field
• Experience with User Research tools such as UserZoom, Validately, Optimal Workshop, or Qualtrics
• Knowledge of design tools like Sketch, Photoshop, or InVision is beneficial
• Strong skillset in either qualitative or quantitative Research methods
• Experience with participant recruiting, screening, and survey design appreciated
• Experience in working with software development teams 
• Ability to effectively engage and convey ideas to cross-functional technical and non-technical teams
• Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA, local candidates preferred
