JOB DESCRIPTION
YOUR CAREER
We are looking for a brilliant Machine Learning Engineer that wants to make a career out of using machine learning to address security problems. Previous intern projects include building novel ML models to detect online shopping scams, building a classifier to identify sensitive documents for DLP, building a classifier to detect malicious Javascript pages (which eventually led to several patents), upgrading production systems to use deep learning models instead of traditional ML models, and building Machine-Learning-As-A-Service pipelines. A high percentage of ML Engineer interns join the Palo Alto Networks team full time.
YOUR IMPACT
Learn to apply Machine Learning in a production environment
Conduct research related to security and threat detection
Work on distributed clusters with large amounts of data
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong working experience applying supervised and/or unsupervised machine learning algorithms on various types of data.
Strong working knowledge of NLP techniques or document classifications.
Strong working knowledge of different machine learning architectures such as transformers and convolutional networks.
Proficient on Python, Java, Linux OS, and shell scripting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Research experience in web content classification or threat (e.g. phishing, malware, scam, fraud) detection
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS) and container-based development (Docker and Kubernetes)
Experience with database systems such as MongoDB, MySQL, or similar
Be comfortable working independently
Ability to come up with novel solutions to difficult problems
To apply, you must be pursuing a 2-year Master’s Degree or a Doctorate degree and returning to school in the fall. You must have the authorization to work within the United States
