    Position Description: Participate in a structured Intern Program designed to apply academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios. Build foundational knowledge in Operational Finance, including training on accounting fundamentals, project finance concepts, and financial systems. Support day-to-day financial management activities across key accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Reconciliation, and Special Services. Contribute to data collection, reporting, and analysis efforts while assisting with process improvements related to budgeting, cost tracking, variance analysis, and operational performance metrics. Gain exposure to emerging technologies, including use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data tools in finance to support analysis, improve efficiency, and enhance reporting processes. Where applicable this assignment will support learning that applies to earning educational credits. Intern may be assigned to a single construction project on a construction job site or to an office location supporting multiple projects. This opportunity is available during summer.

    Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

    • Engage with full participation and immersion of Intern Program, take ownership to fulfill learning requirements and assigned responsibilities, while coordinating with supervisors to effectively prioritize work, manage time, and ensure successful completion of program and project deliverables. /li>
    • Learn, understand, and apply Turner financial accounting processes, including construction accounting principles, earnings, and revenue recognition, with guidance from your supervisor. /li>
    • Follow company and Finance policies related to financial reporting, confidentiality, and data governance. /li>
    • Learn and develop skills related to effective communication, conflict resolution, taking direction, and teamwork. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and business partners. /li>
    • Participate in training sessions, meetings, project site visits, and other learning opportunities provided through Intern Program. /li>
    • Review billing details against client contractual requirements for accuracy, review contracts and invoice backup for accurate accounts receivable. /li>
    • Assist with validating coding of project costs and comparing invoices and expenses to project cost coding structures. /li>
    • Support Shared Services Organization (SSO) with invoice processing tasks, verify subcontractor and vendor accounts status, including lien waivers and recoded costs to support accurate month-end work-in-place reporting. /li>
    • Assist with analyzing budgets and reallocating costs through preparation of journal entries and in support of month-end close process. Assist with monitoring project cash flow, including billings, collections, and payments, and prepare payments held reports to support team communication and visibility. /li>
    • Support under and overbilling analysis and participate in team meetings to support communication of project status. /li>
    • Gain exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled tools and data analytics techniques to support financial analysis, reporting, and process efficiencies. /li>
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to use AI technology and automation to standardize financial workflows, templates, and reports. /li>
    • Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations to support financial reviews and management requests. /li>
    • Share periodic progress updates with your supervisor and engage in feedback conversations to support learning and professional growth. /li>
    • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university offering accredited degree programs in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study with at least 1 year of completed coursework or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Must be 18 years of age to work at a construction project site
    • Must be willing to work a standard work week
    • Basic understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (e.g., journal entries, general ledger)
    • Demonstrate interpersonal skills through leadership, campus involvement, or community activities
    • Demonstrate interest in learning how finance supports real-world construction projects and business operations, including use of data and emerging technologies (e.g., Artificial Intelligence (AI))
    • Ability to take direction, actively listen, ask questions, and follow tasks through to completion within established deadlines
    • Highly organized with attention to detail to accurately document and perform data entry
    • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, English language required
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
    • Able to work independently with guidance and collaboratively within a team
    • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications with intermediate Excel skills, and familiar with collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint)
    • Understand Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools desired, and demonstrate willingness to learn how to apply them to improve financial processes
    • Some travel may be required, access to reliable transportation

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
