JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic intern who is eager to learn about Beacon and the building materials industry. We are seeking to develop a strong performer in the facets of marketing, eCommerce. Strategy, and Customer Experience. This is not an internship where you will be doing “busy work.” We are looking for creative, organized and sales focused individuals with a strong technical aptitude and a passion for world-class customer service. You will be working closely with our cross-functional team to learn and assist with the creation and execution of marketing programs and services. This includes solicitation of ideas and assets, brainstorming programs, and communications. This Internship at a Fortune 500 company will help build solid marketing experience to help you grow your professional career.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• We will help ensure that our interns have projects that are critical to our business and encompass strategy, creativity, and deep analysis (customer, financial, etc.)

• Assist in the rollout of Beacon loyalty program and customer facing incentives

• Developing strategic promotions to help grow trials

• Working with the eCommerce team to better understand customer behavior

• Assisting with our Customer Experience project

• Evaluating opportunities for sports marketing engagements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required to be rising into your sophomore year in college

• Desire to work in marketing and business strategy

• Adaptable, hard-working, team player able to perform in a fast-paced environment

• Coachable, willing to learn and improve daily

• Experience working in Microsoft Office applications

• Comfortable using a variety of technology platforms

• High attention to detail

• Must have strong interpersonal skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Interest in and ability to contribute to a team environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes

• Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices/branches within respective markets

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard

• Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
