    Your Challenge:

    We are offering an internship in the area of deep learning.

    • The intern will work on developing deep learning algorithms to enable value propositions for connected lighting systems.
    • Toward the end of the internship, we will ask the intern to prepare a technical report and present the results to the department.
    • The candidate is expected to work in a team setting with scientists, take initiatives, and contribute highly innovative ideas.
    • Previous internships in our group have led to several publications and/or patent filings.

  • Qualifications

    We are looking for a graduate-level student (PhD preferred) in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or other related disciplines with the following skills:

    • Excellent understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning, specifically deep learning techniques, like CNN, RNN, LSTM, and reinforcement learning is required.
    • Experience in applying these techniques for time series prediction, image processing, and video analytics will be very helpful.
    • Expertise in developing deep learning applications using libraries and platforms, such as Keras, TensorFlow and Theano, is required.
    • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, Java, or a similar language is required.
    • Candidates that have published in top-tier conferences or journals (e.g. NIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, ICCV, SIGKDD, ICDM, ICLR, PAMI, JMLR, TACL, IJCV) will be preferred.
