As a member of the Validation Technology team you will be focused on developing the underlying test technologies that help Cirrus bring innovative Mixed-Signal Audio chips to market. As a valued member of the team, you will be developing leading-edge test software infrastructure primarily written in Python, but with opportunities to expand into other software tool development in various languages as well. While this is a software-based role, the software infrastructure ultimately drives many hardware pieces, so the ideal candidate will have a background in both software and hardware.

We are hiring entry-level engineers to join our team! As a valued member of the team, you will be developing leading-edge test software infrastructure primarily written in Python, but with opportunities to expand into other software tool development in various languages as well. While this is a software-based role, the software infrastructure ultimately drives many hardware pieces, so the ideal candidate will have a background in both software and hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to the development of the Python-based Validation test framework
• Contribute to the development of the Python-based drivers for lab bench instruments such as DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Contribute to the development of the Python and C based embedded software that runs in on-board SoCs controllers for Validation hardware
• Support documentation generation with auto-documenting tools such as Sphynx
• Help support infrastructure needs for the various Validation teams during project bring up
• Take end-user feedback regarding software infrastructure and work in a fast-paced environment to turn around new features or bug fixes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0-3 years of experience
• Experience with programming in Python, C, or other languages
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Ability to read and understand board schematics
• Proficient in Electrical engineering knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics
• Experience in PCB design tools is a plus
• Experience in Verilog RTL and FPGA design is a plus
• Experience with CI automation tools such as Jenkins is a plus
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are highly valued as you will need to understand silicon, board and software interactions
• Highly dynamic, energetic and driven personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across functional groups and organization

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators or general lab equipment
• Demonstrated aptitude in system understanding of various industry interface standards such as I2C, SPI, USB, I2S, TDM or high-speed control/data bus as examples
• Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment
