The lighting industry is in a deep transformation, with new opportunities around two major technology changing waves, firstly LED, and then connectivity. As the Industrial Designer | Professional Lighting you will be challenged to support Philips Lighting and the design function in this transformation, by participating in a culture of excellence in Industrial Design integrated in the Design Studio, representing the competence by establishing the relationships and connections with all relevant Philips Lighting Americas stakeholders as well as with the rest of Philips Lighting Design Organization.

You will be working in a highly collaborative cross functional team environment, challenged to design industry leading luminaires, controls, and software products for professional lighting applications. As Industrial Designer| Professional Lighting, you will contribute to the success of Philips and the Design Studio by delivering on-target industrial design solutions that support key markets for our company.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Senior Industrial Designers/ Americas of Philips Lighting in the development of innovative and forward thinking products & platforms
• Collaborate with the North America Professional Lighting R&D, Business and Market partners to deliver appropriate, best-in class products
• Apply design thinking and planning skills
• Envision product scenarios with a clear understanding of user experience and visual branding language
• Show hands-on fluency in industrial design skills (sketching and prototyping, generating CAD, renderings, product graphics, etc.) with a good understanding of manufacturing methods and technical constraints that provide the background for great design

About you:

• Currently in pursuit of Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Industrial design or related.
• Relevant industrial design experience
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchbook Pro, SolidWorks (preferred) or CAD surfacing package.
• Strong concept development, product envisioning, visual collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience delivering detailed design from concept to CAD and documentation.
