Eight is looking for a qualified intern to join our growing marketing team. Our marketing department is responsible for the company’s brand, communications, sales growth, website and mobile app design and experience.
The marketing intern will report directly to the CMO, and will be responsible for assisting the organization in the development and implementation of its marketing, business development, and public relations plans.
The ideal intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of marketing. The opportunity to transition to a full time role within the company will be explored at the end of the internship.
This internship can offer school credit.
Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Assist in the creation of mock-ups, e-mail campaigns, online promotions, and other communication materials as needed.
Maintain tracking report of company’s website performance.
Seek and analyze marketing trends both online and offline.
Provide support to social media efforts, drafting posts and moderating the company’s profiles.
Identify relevant influencers and press outlets.
Draft outreach messages for relevant influencers and press outlets to position the company’s product in the public’s view.
Assist with responding to incoming media inquiries.
Maintain tracking report of public relations activity.
Assist with responding to incoming customer support requests.
Assist with execution of events, pop up stores, and trade shows as needed.
Assist in organization and execution of the product’s beta program.
Pursuing a degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Business or related subject.
Living in the New York City area.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Extensive knowledge of web and social media and an interest in consumer technology trends.
Experience with PowerPoint, Word and Excel and ability to learn other software programs.
Knowledge of Adobe design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a bonus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position.
