    Your Challenge:

    We are offering an internship for our Semantics Data modeling and Analytics from Research funding project, which enables Philips Lighting business unites and researcher’s organization transform the data in unified modeling language using common serialization mechanism which increases the efficiency and cost savings work across the functions.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Develop modeling language and build common tool so that business unit or researchers should able to generate models independently and validate to run distributed platform.
    • The intern will work closely with Project Leader, Solution Architect and Data Scientist team from top universities such as MIT

  • Qualifications

    We are looking for candidates who are/have:

    • Actively pursuing an advanced degree (PhD or MS) in computer science or computer engineering.
    • Extensive programming experience in Open Sources like Python, Java
    • Strong knowledge on distributed programming language like Apache Spark(using Scala/Python/Java)
    • Knowledge on Hadoop – Map Reduce ,Hive, HBase or preferred NoSQLs
    • Knowledge on RBMS stores like postgresql or mysql
    • Very good understanding on distributed storage formats and common serializations and de-serializations
    • Good understanding on JSON and similar formats considered as advantage
    • Preferred skills on User Interface(GUI) using Java script, D3, Angular JS and any notebooks
    • Ability to work within a team environment and should be self-motivated with the ability to plan and execute.
    • Able to communicate in English effectively, both written and verbal.
