    Background & Purpose of the Job

    The Research and Development Specification Management Associate Scientist Role is responsible for the creation and delivery of Specifications and Technical Information for everything Unilever Buys, Makes and Sells.

    Who You Are & What You'll Do

    The Specification Management (SMT) Associate Scientist is part of a dynamic team that partners with Formulation, Packaging, Process Engineering, Analytical, Microbiology, Regulatory, Planners, Supply Chain and Suppliers to deliver accurate Specifications On Time-In Full for Beauty and Personal Care Brands.

    • You're a dot connector: The SMT role brings data together from numerous sources and translates that into clear and defined written specifications in the SAP Product Lifecyle Management and SAP Global Master Data Systems, in accordance with agreed quality standards for Ingredients, Formulas, Packaging and Finished Goods.
    • You love to win, and have fun doing it: You will be part of cross functional Global and Regional Innovation Project teams, actively participating in Team Meetings, Project Planning and Developing Ways of Working
    • You're a changemaker. You know there is always a way we can improve systems and ways of working, and you are committed to helping others achieve.
    • You're a paradox navigator: Specification Data is shared with a wide variety of downstream systems and you will become expert in operating in that framework and understanding the ways Specifications are used in Unilever.

    What You'll Need To Succeed

    • BS or BA in Chemistry, Biology or related Scientific Field or equivalent Experience
    • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills - Verbal and Written
    • Excellent Proofreading Skills with strong attention to Detail
    • A strong affinity for working with Databases, Technical Software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Excellent Computer and IT skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as in Teams
    • Ability to manage frequent shifts in priorities and adjusting daily workplan
    • Organized and Flexible
    • Positive and pro-active attitude
