    JOB SCOPE

    The Category Advisor will report to the Associate Director, Category Management and will be responsible for providing best in class category management and tactical customer level shopper insights at the customer level. 

    The position will be the first point of contact on shopper insights related business needs for the Customer Category Manager and will be actively involved in creating insight based strategies and uncovering opportunities for Mondelez and have shared responsibility for meeting the team's volume targets. 

    The Category Advisor will act as a business partner with assigned customer teams and will be responsible for selling strategic insights to retailers and wholesalers, performing category management duties for the team, post eventefficiency analysis of key performance measures and identifying opportunities thru data analysis.

    The Category Advisor leads effective trade and analysis tool utilization and training for all team members. This position will be responsible to partner with the Associate Director, Category Management to assess the insights needs of the sales organization and develop and implement long term business plans to fill those needs. 

    The successful candidate for this position will be proficient with all field sales technology and applications and will be expected to meet or exceed the established principles and standards for all Mondelēz International businesses. 

    Proven experience in analyzing data to provide key insights to grow the business is required. 

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be the Shopper Insights Expert at the customer level by working closely with the Mondelez Sales Organization and the Customer.
    • Proactively uncover, review and analyze existing consumer and shopper research to identify and apply learning’s to unmet business challenges.
    • Develop Category Business Reviews, Top to Top Presentations and Selling Stories with the support of various team members.
    • Ensure customer team tactics on 4P’s are based on insights and closely adhere to Mondelez promotion, pricing and shelving principles.
    • Maintain high level of category expertise.
    • Develop insights and actions to help drive recommendations on pricing, promotion, assortment and shelving. Gathers formats and prepares sales data for use in analyzing promotional effectiveness and efficiencies.
    • Identify key business trends, issues and opportunities and formulate strategies to address at the customer.
    • Demonstrate industry leadership to key customers through strategic insights presentations and data analyses.
    • Create a visual representation of ideal merchandising conditions via planogram tools.
    • Utilizes syndicated and shipment performance data and other internal insights tools (Nielsen Pricing Explorer, Shopper Track, etc) to provide data analysis for customer teams.
    • Tracks merchandising initiatives and new item launch performance to ensure fair share, impact to new item acceptance and impact on display vehicles in store.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science, Logistics or Liberal Arts
    • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
    • Ability to comprehend and sell shelf management concepts within the context of category management
    • Ability to learn and apply software applications
    • Ability to work effectively with customer business teams and external customers
