    BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Please note this is an 8-month internship starting May 4th,2020 – Dec 24th, 2020

    Looking for highly motivated, collaborative, and problem-solving individuals who are looking to launch their career in the Consumer Technology space, as part of the broader global technology practice.

    Our role is to partner with business stakeholders (Marketing, Digital, eCommerce, Legal), to first gain a strong understanding of business challenges and requirements, and then provide technological solutions to enable world-class digital at Unilever. We do this by partnering with global and local teams to rollout a digital ecosystem, covering all touchpoints from brand websites, eCommerce tools, data and analytics suites, and integrating recently acquired brands into the Unilever digital ecosystem. As part of our ways of working, we also partner with a range of global agency and consulting partners to implement innovative solutions and capabilities that will benefit the business and at the end of the day, allow Unilever to succeed in the marketplace. You will have an opportunity to support Unilever’s Consumer Technology and digital marketing initiatives that are challenging, engaging and drive business value with the support of a network of IT, Marketing and Digital colleagues.

    Because the Unilever IT organization is a global function, our interns get an opportunity to work with teams across the globe and across multiple business functions such as Marketing, Digital, eCommerce and Legal. Individuals that successfully complete our internship program will have the opportunity to return full-time upon completion of their university degree and fast-track their technical or managerial career within Unilever.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Consumer Technology liaison across business functions in Canada to capture business demand and propose technology solutions, by working with global platform teams to rollout consumer-facing technologies.
    • Collaborate with multiple business functions, data science, technology, services teams and individuals to deliver technology results, in anything from consumer data migration to the implementation of eCommerce tools or leveraging data insights to better reach our consumers through digital channels.
    • Gather requirements, map processes, solve problems, and deep dive into analysis whereas needed.
    • Support user adoption of agile and new technologies to help the business run better and faster.
    • Champion repeatable models in the digital space and provide technology leadership to business functions.

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

    • Current third- or fourth-year undergraduate pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university. As Consumer Technology touches many areas and ideas can come from anywhere, we welcome applications from students studying different subjects that they are passionate about.
    • Enthusiastic about solving complex problems with a variety of analytical tools.
    • Ability to work with ambiguity, develop creative approaches to analytical problems.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft office including PowerPoint.
    • Leadership skills including strong communication, and organizational skills, ideally displayed through recent extra-curricular programs.
    • Data integration, transformation, discovery, visualization and reporting experience is an asset.
    • Project management experience is an asset.

    Successful candidate will have the ability to network with people in multiple locations (both in person and virtually), to influence decision makers at different levels in the organization; be both a team player and work independently; manage their own time and projects to meet key milestones; demonstrate leadership capabilities; have the ability to apply creative thinking to challenges and solve complex business problems.
