    YOUR ROLE AT CLOROX:

    Clorox is transforming its data & technology capabilities and culture to accelerate purpose-driven business growth. The Data Science Intern will join the Enterprise Analytics team that helps drive this transformation through embedding predictive analytics and data science capabilities into the moments of decisions, empowering business users with scaled, reusable models and always-on data insights. The Data Science Intern, with guidance of a Data Science manager, is responsible for leveraging structured & unstructured data along with other data sources to develop data and analytics-based solutions. Deliverables include both robust analysis and visual presentations, turning complex data into a clear story enabling business partners to make decisions with speed and confidence. This position reports to Associate Director, Enterprise Data Science.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    Leverage internal and external data sources to develop scalable decision support systems and models to enable decision-making for business growth and operational efficiency. Duties include:

    • Build data pipelines from multiple data sources and types

    • Leverage data science tools and machine learning techniques to analyze large data sets and develop custom models/algorithms to uncover trends, patterns, and insights

    • Create interactive dashboards and visualization to deliver insights that drive business recommendations

    • Identify opportunities for data to inform decisions in one or more functional areas in Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Direct to Consumer, or at the Enterprise level

    • Evaluate existing data science tools and techniques, aid in the development of best practices

    • Identify needs, produce actionable and compelling recommendations driven by complex data, and implement viable solutions for real world problems

    • Manage projects with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines

    WHAT WE LOOK FOR:

    EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Degree in STEM or the equivalent, pursuit of MS or PhD preferred (Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or similar quantitative fields)

    • Data science coursework that covers machine learning and one or more of the following: deep learning, NLP, time series forecasting; programming skills (Python, SQL).

    • Previous internship or business experience (1~2 years)

    • Working knowledge of Python and its libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Sklearn

    • Project experience working with databases and database query language (SQL)

    • Experience with data visualization software (Microsoft Power BI preferred)

    • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (Microsoft Azure, GCP, or AWS), is a plus

    • Understanding ML Ops and experience with production level data science projects is a plus

    • Understanding of design and architecture principles is a plus

    • Ability to communicate issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    The applicable pay range for this role in the U.S. is based on your work location according to the cost of labor in your area.

    *$26 - $32/hr
