    Job Overview/Summary

    The Clorox Company Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience that runs from June through August. Interns are provided meaningful work assignments designed to provide perspective and practical work experience highlighting what you would do in a similar role following completion of your degree and working at the company on a regular, full-time basis. Through the course of the summer, interns participate in:

    • Formal, two-day orientation and program kick off
    • Peer-level mentorship and connection points with functional and company executives
    • Community Engagement activity
    • Soft-skills training and development exercises

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Finance/Accounting Intern at Clorox, you will help achieve business strategies and goals by translating operating activities and results into compelling consumer and business insights. As part of our Finance team, your insights will drive decision-making across the organization, and your influence will help the company build big-share brands that make everyday life better, every day.

    Clorox Finance Interns are assigned to a team where they will gain experience in support of the function. Some assignments could include:

    • Financial Planning & Analysis for major brand within The Clorox Company portfolio
    • Accounting (SEC Reporting, Consolidation, US or International Ops, Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting & Controls)

    Typical Entry Level Finance/Accounting Responsibilities can include:

    • Report actual performance vs. forecast, including identifying key variance drivers
    • Plan, execute and improve the quarterly financial forecasting and/or close process
    • Prepare journal entries and monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
    • Prepare and analyze volume shipment reports with key performance drivers for senior management
    • Ensure accuracy of cost and spending related accounts on financial statements
    • Execute monthly and quarterly close in accordance with GAAP for revenue, deductions, trade spending, unsaleables, discounts and sales-related expenditures
    • Support financial statement preparation and maintain strong control environment
    • Identify and influence system improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness
    • Develop insights to drive the business
  • Qualifications

    Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

    • Rising Junior or Senior (Undergraduate) or Masters student majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
    • Desired GPA: 3.3 or higher
    • Completion of 3 to 6 hours of coursework in Finance or Accounting
    • Experience working with MS Office Products with a primary focus on MS Excel
    • Passion to learn and evolve with changing business needs
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to work both independently as well as collaborate within a team environment
    • Strong attention to detail with results oriented mindset

    Ability to work in one of the following locations (with housing stipend or transportation assistance from Clorox):

    Finance Internships will be based in Oakland, CA; Pleasanton, CA or Durham, NC
