    Job Description

    The Safety Coordinator will be responsible to assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding Safety as a value to help lead Richmond Bakery to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents.

    The incumbent is responsible for overseeing, implementing and executing preventative and corrective measures to achieve company safety, security and environmental (SSE) goals and Safety Culture. Take the leadership in the areas of risk assessment, asset losses, security breaches, change management, regulatory reporting, training and creating a team oriented environment to achieve goals and comply with government regulations for area of responsibility. The Safety Coordinator leads their business unit’s Emergency Response and Special Situations Management Programs.

    The incumbent will be coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Safety programs and processes at the plant. Ensure that the Business Unit’s safety, security and Environmental policies and procedures to be rolled out and trained in an effective way. The incumbent will play an active role in the safety pillar and integrate with the safety committee, ultimately supporting our behavior based safety journey. This role will be responsible to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and Mondelez policies and continuous improvement in key identified measures and objectives. Responsible to prepare, build, and deliver training to ensure compliance and meet transformational objectives.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health and Safety
    • Candidate must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC
    • At least two years’ experience in safety, security and/or environmental in a lead role
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
    • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO
    • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications
    • Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is an advantage
    • Knowledge of security principles in a manufacturing facility and high level of energy
