  • Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Assists Plant HR Manager in administering all hourly wage, gain share, employee benefit programs including insurance, 401(k) and various employee relations activities.
    • Assist with Workers Compensation, arbitrations, contract negotiation, records, and concerns.
    • Administers disciplinary and attendance procedures. Assures fair and equitable treatment of all employees along with plant supervision.
    • Assures compliance with the Corporate Policy Manual.
    • Prepares, sends and corresponds on all accident reports
    • Compiles, prepares and distributes Employee Handbook which includes plant specific programs, such as Attendance, Drug and Alcohol Policy, Plant Rules and Regulations, Accident Reporting, etc.
    • Pre-screen and interview all new and prospective employees.
    • Performs new employee orientation for new employees
    • Administer benefit programs including Medical, Dental, Life, Voluntary Life, Principal, etc.
    • Maintain and control employment records to include medical/benefit files.
    • Completes any projects as assigned or requested
    • Oversee the safety shoe and safety glass reimbursement program.
    • Maintain professional relationships with employees and community, union representatives, and various organizations to assure company goodwill.
  • Qualifications

    Experience:

    • 1-3 yeas Experience in Human Resources or business-related discipline preferred.
  • Desired skills

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Computer skills required include Excel, Word, Power Point, Lotus Notes, People Soft.
    • Operation of 10 key calculator and good mathematical skills required.
    • Knowledgeable in employment law
    • Experience in all HR related tasks including benefits, recruitment, compensation, training and development, HRIS, and administration
    • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas
    • Ability to enter, manipulate and retrieve data from the computer
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of personnel
    • Professional presentation to vendors, contractors, and customers
    • Analytical and advanced mathematic skills
    • Judgment required during internal investigations
    • Effective communication (verbal and written)
    • Organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Is a positive example of leadership

    Education, Licenses & Certifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent a must.
    • 4-year degree/PHR Certification preferred but not required
