JOB OVERVIEW/SUMMARY

As a Packaging Systems Engineer in Central Engineering, you will use Clorox engineering principles and Early Management tools to design, improve and modify the capability of packaging systems in various Clorox manufacturing facilities. The Engineer frequently will work as part of multi-functional teams, providing packaging engineering functional expertise for project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up. Project work will require travel and is expected to be 30-50% of time as dictated by work assignments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Under Senior Engineering supervision and coaching while demonstrating ability to work autonomously:

• Using Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop detailed project scope of work and cost estimates related to the design, functional changes, and improvements of manufacturing systems.
• Oversee and ensure successful implementation of those changes to manufacturing systems.
• Perform functions of capital project manager which includes responsibility for the defining overall project scope, cost, obtaining funding approval, and procurement and construction management
• With the assistance of others defines, manages, and critically reviews work products from outside engineering firms and from internal engineering improvement initiatives, to provide detailed engineering work and technical leadership.

KEY SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:
• 1+ YEARS OF ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE OR APPLICABLE INTERNSHIPS
• OTHER MANUFACTURING AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE IS DESIRED
• SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• ABLE TO INFLUENCE AND ACCOMPLISH WORK THROUGH OTHERS. EXCEPTIONAL WRITTEN & VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS. ABILITY TO COACH AND DEVELOP SELF AND OTHERS IN THE COURSE OF COMPLETING WORK ASSIGNMENTS.
• EDUCATION LEVEL/DEGREE:
• BSME / BSCHE, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PREFERRED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical Experience:
  • Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Lean Manufacturing/Early Management, Capital Project Management.
  • Experience with Packaging Equipment and Systems used for Consumer Packaged Goods.
  • High Speed Manufacturing or Personal Care Converting Experience
• Manufacturing Plant experience
