    ABOUT GLOBAL PUBLIC AFFAIRS

    The Global Public Affairs function enables The Estée Lauder Companies to understand, anticipate, and manage the global political environment in which it does business. In partnership with internal colleagues and consultants, the Global Public Affairs team works to build relationships with key external stakeholders (i.e., governments, regulators, NGOs, trade associations, and others), and develop strategies to leverage business opportunities, mitigate risk, and advance the interests of the company. The Global Public Affairs team is committed to ensuring that ELC maintains its position as the leader in prestige beauty.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Assistant Manager, Global Public Affairs will support Public Affairs’ Global and North America Leadership in both the development and execution of the Public Affairs strategy to further advance The Estée Lauder Companies position and business interests.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor policy and geopolitical trends that are relevant to The Estée Lauder Companies’ business priorities and operations with a focus on North America.

    • Support the team in the analysis and assessment of upcoming legislation or policy to identify risks and opportunities and inform the company’s position and actions.

    • Manage ELC’s Civic Engagement program including developing programming, internal and external communications, and overall strategy for the project.

    • Prepare updates, presentations, and other written materials to Senior Management and other department or function leaders on the impact of relevant policy actions and decisions, and briefing materials in advance of external meetings.

    • Serve as project manager for key projects, including the development of North America’s contribution to Global Public Affairs’ annual strategy, various internal and external stakeholder engagements, vetting, and crisis management workstreams in response to emerging geopolitical events as needed.

    • Support, develop, and execute recurring products to keep business leaders informed on the political landscape and its business impact.

    • Provide scheduling and logistical support for events, trainings, and meetings organized by Global Public Affairs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in political science, international affairs or communications preferred.

    • 3+ years of public affairs, policy, or communications experience, preferably in government, politics, and/or a multi-branded retail company or other industry with high-profile consumer brand.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and proactive approach to collaboration and relationship building; good judgment and an ability to work independently required.

    • Outstanding writing, editing, analytical, and proofreading skills.

    • Strategic and creative thinker with an understanding of stakeholder engagement; experience with issues and crisis management an advantage.

    • Fluent in both written and conversational English required; fluency in a second language is helpful.

    • Ability to effectively meet project deadlines while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment essential.
