  • Responsibilities

    The primary focus of this position is to concept, develop and execute creative content for M·A·C’s global programs with a focus on elevated design. The Associate Design Director is a visually driven storyteller, with exceptional art direction, graphic design, and typography skills.

    This role will be responsible for the creation and execution of several concurrently running programs from inception through completion. This includes all creative initiatives across product categories as well as special brand moments, collaboration programs and brand design considerations. This position reports into Executive Director, Image.

    • Bring creative innovation and excellence to M·A·C s global programs with a special focus on design language.

    • Responsible for conceptualizing thoughtful, strategic 360 campaigns, inclusive of campaign concept, logo lockup, layout, and design direction as well as both hands on and production oversight.

    • Work with the Executive Director, Image on the development of campaign and brand concepts to answer brand, business, demographic, and strategic objectives in concert with creative counterparts in Editorial (copy), Digital Design, Social, Visual Merchandising (VM), Experiential Design and Creative Operations.

    • In concert with Creative Operations and Production, art direct photo shoots that effectively align with approved creative direction for each project, from inception through post-production, execution, and deployment.

    • Conceptualize, own, and execute brand design initiatives to a high standard.

    • Work closely with creative counterparts to maintain visual and conceptual consistency across all channels in pre-and-post production – digital and IRL – inclusive of in-store, digital, social and experiential; maintain awareness of future programs and initiatives and how they relate to overall creative strategy.

    • Organize and coordinate a large volume of incoming creative requests by keeping track of deadlines and assets.

    • Can take direction well, work independently to execute programs and/or supervise support design functions.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BA or BFA preferred

    • 5+ Years of design experience

    • Fluent in computer programs including, Adobe Creative Suite with a special emphasis on Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, as well as Keynote and PowerPoint

    • Ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines

    • 360 program development experience – working across print, digital and experiential

    • Experience with on-set Art Direction, pre-through-post production planning and design

    • Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills

    • Understanding of current fashion, beauty, and design trends­

    • Ability to work in a very fast paced environment

    • Category, Adjacent Category and Creative Agency experience is a plus
