    POSITION PURPOSE:

    To effectively and efficiently manage the daily operations of the Distribution Center in order to achieve the financial (cost) goals as well as all quality related goals.     DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    • Management and oversight of all shift Distribution Supervisors for Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Sort-to-Stage, Replenishment and Shipping activities.    

    • Analyze and direct floor labor to where the work is through supervisors. 

    • Manage material flow throughout warehouse to ensure consistent availability for order fulfillment.

    • Manage day to day business challenges with strong internal interaction.

    • Work closely with Manager of Logistics to ensure Transfer Orders (TO’s) are being waved down at appropriate levels to the floor to ensure consistent workflow.

    • Work closely with Manager of Logistics to establish order picking priorities to ensure customer requirements are achieved.

    • Ensure the appropriate staffing levels are maintained based on budgetary goals and current volume of orders to ensure service levels are maintained.

    • Work in conjunction with warehouse management and Human Resources on employee relations issues.

    • Provide clear and consistent goals to all shifts and ensure smooth transitions of responsibilities between shifts.

    • Ensure adherence and compliance to all EL and Aveda policies and procedures in all departments and areas, including the Environmental and Safety, Human Resources, etc.

    • Monitor and report efficiencies and oversee the audit/accuracy of the pick

    • Capture daily capacity, productivity and quality metrics. Analyze and report the trends for Management review and give continuous feedback to staff on performance.  Ensure that staff communicates pertinent results to their direct reports.

    • Ensure strong lines of communication are provided staff on all shifts.

    • Plan, strategize and make decisions relating to order volume, trends and/or changing business needs.  Review current work practices and procedures periodically to ensure continued relevancy.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Four year college degree or equivalent experience.

    Experience:  2 to 3 years supervisory experience in similar environment.

    Others:  Must have strong leadership skills which include:  Communication, Organization, People Development and Management. Must be proficient with MS Excel, MSAccess and MSPowerpoint.  Must have the ability to manage multiple projects. Working knowledge of SAP WM transaction and process flow.
