Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer – Guidance, Navigation, and Control. This position will be located at our Defense Systems Sector in Northridge, CA, supporting our Armament Systems Business Unit.
Roles/Responsibilities:
Use basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, classical/modern control, and estimation theory to support routine aerospace engineering tasks
Work under specific detail direction from project lead and senior engineer
Apply defined engineering principles, industry standard, company processes and procedures to support one or a few program objectives and customer requirements
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate must meet ALL the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution by June 2023
Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related discipline
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile).
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Experience or coursework in Dynamics, Control, and Estimation
Running Monte Carlo non-linear vehicle dynamics simulation
Analyzing CFD and Wind Tunnel test data
Familiar with MATLAB, Simulink, and C++
