Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Systems Engineers and Systems Engineers. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Rolling Meadows, IL.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Payload & Ground Systems division.
Opportunities are available in the System Design discipline in SEIT. Tasking can include:
creating and refining Model Based System Engineering products (System behavioral models, Use Case realizations, State Machines, etc.)
generation and update of specifications in DOORS, including requirements traceability
functional algorithm development
presenting analysis that shapes the system design and obtaining end-customer buy-in.
As a part of the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) team, a Systems Design engineer is exposed to the front-end Systems Engineering process and coordinates across many disciplines to ensure that the system description and requirements are properly and thoroughly defined, captured, and meet the mission need for the end customer.
Tasking for I&T can include:
generation of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports,
execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.
As a part of the SEIT team, an Integration & Test engineer gains an understanding of the Systems Engineering process across a product's lifecycle and gains a full appreciation for how the systems operate.
Tasking for Modeling & Simulation can include:
analysis and trades of product line architectures using analytical models and mission level simulations.
software development of in-house models and algorithms.
As a part of the SEIT team, a Modeling & Simulation Engineer develops strong domain knowledge combined with valuable software development skills that are required to produce the accurate models that drive the critical analysis needed to design our future systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2. Basic qualifications for an Associate Systems Engineer (level 1) are a Bachelor’s Degree. Basic qualifications for a Systems Engineer (level 2) are a Master’s Degree.
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution
Be majoring in or having majored in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Working knowledge of one of more of the following specialty areas related to EOIR/RF systems: sensors/antennas, transmitters/receivers, optics
Experience with real-time signal processing in both firmware and software
Experience with Cameo
Agile development experience a plus
Working knowledge of DOORS
Ability and willingness to travel
SALARY RANGE:
Associate Systems Engineer: $65,000 - $97,600
Systems Engineer: $78,600 - $118,000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
