    Northrop Grumman is seeking a Ground Systems Intern in Mission Operations. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Dulles, VA.

    The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space Systems.

    This intern will participate in ground systems technical planning, system integration and verification / validation. Utilize technical skills to monitor and troubleshoot system / network performance issues and repair ground system hardware and applications. Participate in the logical and systematic allocation of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Participate in functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

    Basic Qualifications:

    A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    • Active Top Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) with eligibility to obtain SCI

    • Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related program

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

    • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2023

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum GPA 3.25

    • Interest in computer networking technologies

    • Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript languages

    • Demonstrated communication skills

    • Agile Process Tools (e.g. Jira)

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • Must work well in a team environment

    • Must possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills

    • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need

    • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations

    • Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company’s values of Dedication to Mission Success, Technical Excellence, Commitment to Our People, Integrity and Objectivity.

    • Coursework in college level physics.

    • Knowledge and or training in the integration of requirements, design and technology during the design and development of complex systems.

    • Knowledge of product development life cycle a plus.

    • Knowledge of CAD and simulation tools.

    • Experience or classroom knowledge of analytical model development using Matlab or Simulink.

    • Detailed coding implementation with programming languages (C, C++).

    Intern Pay Range for Dulles, VA:

    • Bachelor’s: $24.00 to $30.50 per hour

    • Master’s: $36.00 to $38.25 per hour

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
