    The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Advanced Processing Solutions (APS) business pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines the leading edge of exotic new technologies, and drives advances in the sciences. One of our most challenging new fields is Transformational Computing, which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. Our Engineering & Sciences (E&S) team is chartered with providing the skills to transform computing beyond Moore’s Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/memory subsystems, and large-scale high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers to make these processing solutions a reality.

    APS E&S is seeking entry level engineers with interest and aptitude in RF Integrated Circuit (IC) design and verification. The right candidate will be comfortable in a dynamic environment with rapidly developing technologies and tools. Experience or academic coursework in Microwave Circuits and Applied Electromagnetics is a plus.

    This position requires work onsite at NG facilities in Linthicum or Annapolis Junction, MD.

    Role includes one or more of the following activities:

    • Superconducting RF circuit design, schematic capture, simulation, and physical design/layout in Cadence Custom Tool Suite (Composer, Spectre, Virtuoso).
    • 3D High Frequency Electromagnetic (EM) simulation in Ansys HFSS.
    • Physical design/layout verification in Cadence Assura and Mentor Graphics Calibre.
    • Circuit requirement specification and test plan development.
    • Work in test laboratory measuring and characterizing circuits.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree.
    • Coursework in custom circuit design including schematic capture and spice simulation.
    • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MSEE with specialization in Microwave Circuits and Applied Electromagnetics.
    • Familiarity with ADS Momentum, Ansys HFSS, Cadence Spectre/Virtuoso, or AWR Microwave Office.
    • Experience in lab with electronic test hardware (O-scopes, network analyzers, signal generators).
    • Experience with low-temperature experimental measurements, microwave engineering.
    • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph.
