    Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in St. Augustine, FL.

    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) is looking for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to support our E-2D Hawkeye Production. This position is located on site in St. Augustine, FL where we make the industry’s most complex manufacturing processes predictable and repeatable.

    This position is on-site in St Augustine, FL and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.

    Manufacturing Engineers for Aeronautics Systems are expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems. They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives. We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative voice for the Manufacturing Engineering organization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production, Tool Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Quality organizations to identify process, drawing incorporations, and tooling requirements to support current and new production.

    • Generate and maintain/revise various Manufacturing Engineering Documentation.

    • Identify manufacturing processes and specialty tooling requirements to improve efficiency, quality, and ergonomics in production operations.

    • Provide technical liaison assistance to production personnel to troubleshoot or provide clarification on various build process and tool related problems.

    • Identify, specify, and analyze usage of production perishables and consumable requirements addressed by documentation being used for production work instructions.

    • Investigate and provide solutions to support nonconformance repair procedures.

    • Research, develop, and provide process training as required.

    • Support site safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes.

    • Interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors.

    This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (T01) or Manufacturing Engineer (T02).

    Basic Qualifications for a Associate Manufacturing Engineer (T01):

    A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by February 2026.

    • Be majoring in or having majored in a Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree.

    • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.

    • Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling.

    • Ability to work full time on the production floor within a manufacturing environment.

    • Traverse unit/product and operate in manufacturing/production environment to include: tooling, stands, ladders, steps etc. while wearing appropriate PPE, occasionally enter confined space.

    • Ability to be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

    • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

    • Be majoring in or having majored in a Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree.

    • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment.

    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to work any shift or extended work week as business need requires.

    • Ability to work for extended periods of time at a workstation on a computer or similar device for up to 10 hours / duration of shift. Occasional extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling.

    • Ability to work full time on the production floor within a manufacturing environment.

    Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer:

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.

    • Active Secret DoD clearance/program access.

    • Manufacturing engineering major.

    • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

    • Fabrication, Assembly, GD&T, process improvement, CAD modeling, machining experience.

    • Strong structure experience and process knowledge in aerospace manufacturing

    • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and/or 3-D models.

    • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or Machining/Fabrication Processes.

    • Experience in Lean Six Sigma.

    • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment.

    • Experience with developing enhancement processes that improve production shop floor efficiencies and root cause corrective actions.

    • Experience creating Work Instructions within a Manufacturing Execution System.

    • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems more specifically SAP.

    Pay Range

    • Associate Manufacturing Engineer: $59,900 - $89,900
    • Manufacturing Engineer: $72,100 - $108,100
