    Northrop Grumman is seeking Associate Material Process Engineers. This position will be located at our Mission Systems sector in Woodland Hills, CA.

    The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Navigation, Intelligence, and Connectivity (NIC) division.

    Basic Qualifications:

    A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    • Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor’s) from an accredited institution
    • Be majoring in or having majored in materials science and engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, polymer engineering, physics, or a closely related STEM degree.
    • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
    • The ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
    • Broad experience in: metallic materials such as super alloys, aluminums/ titaniums and their associated processing (e.g. forging, casting, forming, brazing, welding, etc.); non-metallic (e.g. o-rings, seals, lubricants) hardware; material characterization and failure modes (corrosion, failure investigation, thermal degradation, etc.)
    • Relevant internship/co-op and/or hands-on experience that demonstrate development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities
    • Knowledge of physical and mechanical properties as well as evaluation methods (tensile strength, hardness, fatigue, fracture toughness, creep, stress rupture, SEM, non-destructive inspection, spectroscopy)
    • Active Secret security clearance

    Salary Range:

    $69,400 to $104,000
