This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Performing maintenance and repair of gas turbine engines, systems, components and assemblies supported by the organization; 2) Disassembling aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories, removing tubing, fuel controls, pumps, etc., from engines and breaks down major assemblies in proper sequence; 3) Using measuring instruments such as electronic scales, continuity checkers, go-no-go gauges, squares, rules, and vernier calipers and automated test equipment to test disassembled parts for defects such as warping, incorrect weight, or for continuity of wiring harnesses, in order to route defective parts to repair or salvage; and 4) To follow supervisor, leader or higher graded employee's oral instruction on assembly/disassembly sequences and problem areas and ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification sheet when checking for parts damage or deterioration. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
