    This position will support Applications Engineering duties for Manufacturing Systems Digital Factory team. The position will conduct research on industry solutions and capabilities regarding the digital factory; stay abreast of industry trends; define value propositions for machine-to-machine communication, improved process monitoring and automation; analyze customer problems; identify areas of the production process where new technology insertions may be applied to reduce cost, improve overall equipment effectiveness, (OEE), or otherwise satisfy customer needs. Share best-practices concerning the Lockheed Martin digital factory and Industrial Internet of Things, (IIoT). Candidate will represent the Manufacturing Systems Digital Factory team at various meetings, collaborate with other depts. and organize IIoT demonstrations. This position includes technical support for projects ranging from early process development to final production implementation across various disciplines of aerospace manufacturing. Tasks would include but not be limited to: Identifying, validating, and integrating Industrial Internet of Things technology into Lockheed Martin reference architecture platform. Supporting Industrial Internet of Things, IIoT evolution at Lockheed Martin including smart factory and compliant data strategy. Investigate distributed/edge computing solutions (smart edge, smart devices) addressing the needs of LM Industrial Internet of Things applications, from in-field data analytics, distributed machine intelligence, local control, cloud computing to autonomous systems. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
