DESCRIPTION:

This engineering internship position is with our historic Skunk Works in Palmdale, California. This position is for a motivated student in the Lockheed Martin Palmdale High School Internship Program. The successful candidate will learn and apply the fundamentals of a field such as aircraft design, subsystems design, structural analysis, aerodynamics, electrical engineering, software engineering, materials & processes, or another engineering field. Though new to the field, the candidate will be expected to proactively seek solutions to difficult engineering problems and to complete assignments on time. The candidate will work as a part of a team under supervision of senior engineers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in the Lockheed Martin Palmdale High School Internship Program
• Must have graduated from high school.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Enrolled in an accredited 4-year degree program with intent to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
• Must be a US Citizen: position is located at a facility that requires special access

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Strong communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with CATIA or other CAD software
