    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    At Raytheon Applied Signal Technology the dynamic and diverse develop demanding, trusted, superior solutions to make the world a safer place, and we are looking for a field programmable gate array engineer for our Sunnyvale, CA location to develop advanced high-capacity systems that process modern high-speed communications for the U.S. intelligence community.

    You will work as an FPGA developer on cutting-edge technology for RAST, which develops systems to provide integrated sensor and signal processing products in support of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance that protect your family, your nation and enhance global security, while in your free time you can explore the many wonders of California.

    You must have a familiarity with digital signal processing and/or network communications concepts; have been exposed to the design, simulation, and integration of FPGA module level designs; have been exposed to FPGA development tool environments and development tool flows; have been exposed to hands-on lab environments; have strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments; and use technical expertise to provide imaginative, thorough, practicable and organizationally aligned solutions to a wide range of difficult developmental challenges.

    THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION RANGING FROM 10 WEEKS TO SIX MONTHS

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Familiarity with digital signal processing and/or network communications concepts
    • Exposure to the design, simulation, and integration of FPGA module level designs
    • Exposure to FPGA development tool environments and development tool flows
    • Exposure to hands-on lab environments
    • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
    • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
    • Exposure to digital signal processing and/or network processing FPGA applications
    • Experience in the design, simulation, and integration of FPGA module level designs utilizing VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog HDL development languages
    • Experience with FPGA development tool environments and development tool flows
    • Experience in resolving FPGA module level integration and test issues in hands-on lab environments
    • Exposure to circuit card design, implementation, integration, and test
    • Exposure to Matlab and Python

    REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR):

    • Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2019. Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
