    The Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems Contracts organization conducts front-end strategic assessment of business pursuits, proposal presentation, contract negotiation, contract administration and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment.

    Job Description:

    The Contracts Summer Intern will support the Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business of Raytheon. IDS operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment in which new innovative, leading-edge approaches to solving problems are highly encouraged. This position requires an understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices pertaining to the field of business. The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials and experience in working in a teamwork environment, having not only academic but also interpersonal skills to help optimize our teams. Additionally, the candidate should possess an inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn real-world applications to compliment their academic experience.

    This position will be located in our Marlborough office area supporting various product lines within the IDS business: Integrated Air & Missile Defense, Mission Systems and Sensors Programs, Seapower Capability Systems and Advanced Technology. The contracts will be focused on both the US Government and International markets.

    Specific responsibilities include the following:

    • Working with Contract Managers to review terms and conditions (analysis)
    • Supporting Contract Managers in development and preparation of proposals, contracts, gate review documents and other general contracts administration activities
    • Supporting negotiations of Proprietary Information Agreements
    • Conducting research on unique topics
    • Cataloguing documents for storage and archiving purposes
    • Learning and using Raytheon’s Integrated Contract Management System to enter critical proposal and contract information and report out as requested
    • Providing critical data management support
    • Learning and executing the Raytheon Six Sigma Process
    • Coordinating with finance, data integrity, program management and engineering as required to close on contracts tasks

  • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Pursuing either a BS or BA degree in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Business Management, International Business, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Business Law, or Accounting

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 or above
    • International experience (studied or traveled abroad, foreign language)
    • Demonstrated ability to work on teams
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Demonstrates strong business acumen
    • Demonstrated ability in developing solutions to complex issues using an organized systematic approach
    • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule following established procedures
    • Ability to foster and maintain solid relationships internally and externally
    • Strong interpersonal skills
