Raytheon Missile Systems is hiring an Intern who will support the Innovation Center which include building and sustaining a culture of continuous innovation for Technical and Affordability Discriminators. The activities of the Innovation Center include the fostering of disruptive innovation, integrating emerging technologies into our products to advance solutions, exploring and facilitating the creation of innovative capabilities, technologies, and solutions, and recognizing and rewarding innovation. The Intern will support the vision of the Innovation Center, continue to develop the architecture, primarily focusing on capabilities and crowdsourced ideation to accelerate the growth of new ideas, and implement the associated roadmap. The position requires a fresh thinker with innovative perspectives who will build, grow, sustain, and drive a culture of innovation throughout the organization.

U.S. CITIZENSHIP STATUS IS REQUIRED AS THIS POSITION NEEDS AN ACTIVE U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE AS OF DAY ONE OF EMPLOYMENT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support, refine, and optimize current RMS Innovation Center Resources, Facilities, People, and Events
• Support and help execute RMS Innovation Center Events which includes aSummer Hackathon
• Present information and project status to senior leaders within the organization

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Proven strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications
• Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function
• Experience with participating or setting up Hackathons
• Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret Security Clearance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• NOTE:This position can be a Salary Grade ST03, Salary Grade ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
• ST03 (Junior Technical Intern)- must have completed 60 hours of college
• ST04 (Senior Technical Intern)- must have completed 90 hours of college
• ST05- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern)- must have an undergraduate degree, and currently seeking a graduate degree (In degree fields listed in Required Education)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Matlab and/or C++ experience
• Modeling and Simulation experience
• Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
• Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills
• Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to problem solve and seek out additional resources
